Pro has not unlocked
- Connect to the internet and open Microsoft Store. Sign into the account that bought Pro.
- Restart the game, select Restore purchases and let the Store check finish.
- If a payment was cancelled or failed, check Microsoft order history before trying again.
- Contact support with the error and game version if access still does not return. Keep receipts and credentials private.
Progress is missing or cannot save
Close the game before working with saves. The usual local user-data location is:
%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\The Restoration Atelier\
Keep a copy of the folder before moving or changing files. The game maintains atelier-save.json and a backup on the same PC. Check disk space and folder permissions if saving fails. Windows or Store packaging can redirect the physical folder. Do not delete data as a troubleshooting first step. There is no cloud-save recovery service.
The game will not start
- Check that Windows is x64, version 1809 or later, and the graphics driver supports OpenGL 3.3.
- Install current graphics drivers from the PC or GPU manufacturer.
- For a developer-supplied portable build, extract the entire folder before launching the executable.
- For a Store installation, check Microsoft Store for updates. Contact support before using Windows’ Reset action, which can remove local data.
Common questions
Is the first level really free?
Yes. The complete first restoration and its letter are included. Levels 2 and 3 require the one-time Pro add-on.
Can I play offline?
Gameplay and saves are local. Acquiring or restoring Pro needs Microsoft Store connectivity. Windows may make a cached license available for later offline use.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. The planned Pro upgrade is a one-time durable add-on, with a planned US price of $9.99. Store release and regional pricing are still being prepared.
Can I skip the typing?
Yes. Use next-word assistance or reveal the complete letter. There is no typing-speed requirement.
Which languages are in the game?
The game’s interface and stories are in English. This support website is available in English and Indonesian.
